Abstract

Telecommunications network technology has entered the fifth generation or often called 5G NR. The availability of 5G NR network services is expected to be a solution to improve the quality of telecommunication networks in Malang City. The research discusses the planning of the 5G NR network in the city of Malang. A 5G network at a frequency of 28 GHz and a bandwidth of 100 MHz is simulated with the Atoll software. 5G network planning is done by calculating the need for gNodeB in the city of Malang. The number of gNodeB is obtained by analysis of coverage dimensioning and capacity dimensioning. The gNodeB obtained is simulated in the city of Malang using Atoll software to obtain the coverage area parameters. 5G network planning in the city of Malang using Atoll software is able to predict customer needs in the next five years. © 2022 IEEE.
