Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the separator segment on the flammability limit of hexane fuel in the mesoscale combustor, consisting of: a vaporizer chamber, 8 flame holder lines, a separator segment, an output segment, all with an internal diameter of 3.5 millimeters. The flame stabilization of the liquid fuel in the mesoscale combustor is achieved by adding a three-millimeter stainless steel insert as a separator between the heat recirculation and the flame holder. Flame stability occurs at the equivalent ratio between 0.41 1.51 and the reactant velocity (U) is 15.76 cm/s to 30.58 cm/s. As the equivalence ratio increases, the flame gets brighter and wider. The flame temperature increases along with the increasing speed and decreases along with the increasing equivalence ratio value. © 2022 Author(s).
