Detection of the target gas using the sensor can be carried out in a static headspace where gas is not flowing but is injected or in a headspace where gas is flowing. The headspace with flowing gas has the advantage of repeatedly doing gas injection and flushing processes. This paper describes the dynamic headspace design with gas flow. The chamber headspace design uses hollow aluminum with an aperture of 3.8 x 3.8 cm. At one end of the headspace, the DC fan is installed, and the other is connected to the controlling valve to allow the gas injection and air flushing. The target gas is injected into the headspace at an adjustable rate. The gas is sucked in and discharged using a DC fan. The gas flow rate is controlled via the DC fans Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) setting. Using the PWM setting, the gas flow rate is obtained in the range of 2.81 x 10-6 m3/s - 12.06 x 10-6 m3/s with PWM duty cycle of 20%-100%.
