Analysis of Off-Street Parking Space Needs in PSC Area Madiun City

Abstract

The Pahlawan Street Centre area as an Urban Tourism in Madiun City, has the potential to be a new trip generation and attraction. Vehicles are directed to park along Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan. To calculate the ideal parking space requirement, it is necessary to identify the number of parked vehicles, parking duration, vehicle turnover time, parking capacity and parking index. Based on the analysis, the highest number of parked vehicles occurs between 19.00-20.00, with an average duration of 1 hour and a vehicle turnover time of 0.27 for cars and 0.15 for motorcycles. Meanwhile the motorcycle parking index is 1.22 meaning that the number of parked motorcycles exceeds the maximum available parking capacity. The car parking index after analysis is 0.95, the value close to 1, indicating that the car parking capacity is nearly full. Therefore, based on various analyses, the ideal off street parking capacity is 1,279.3 m2. The long-Term emphasis the importance of efficient space utilisation and identify vehicle types. To accommodate increasing demand, city planners may need to explore innovative parking solutions or expand existing facilities. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
