Development and population growth contribute to regional expansion, with improved accessibility, enhanced infrastructure, and adequate public services fostering high-density zones and stimulating the proliferation of surrounding settlements. Sidoarjo Regency, which is part of the Gerbangkertosusila metropolitan area, has experienced quite rapid and dynamic regional development. However, this development needs to be accompanied by spatial utilization control to ensure that spatial use in Sidoarjo Regency remains in accordance with the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW). This research aims to analyze the concentration patterns of space utilization based on dynamic data as a basis for determining priority locations for space utilization control. This study applies Kernel Density, Line Density, and GHS-Population analyses. The data used is sourced from dynamic and real-Time open-source spatial data. The research results show that districts such as Waru, Taman, Sedati, Gedangan, Buduran, Sidoarjo, Candi, and Sukodono have a very high concentration of land use. This concentration pattern generally follows the main transportation network routes from north to south and reflects greater development pressure in regions with high accessibility. This finding indicates the phenomenon of urban sprawl from Surabaya City to the suburban areas of Sidoarjo, which, if not controlled, has the potential to cause spatial planning conflicts and environmental damage. Therefore, the results of this research can be used as a basis for formulating more adaptive and evidence-based spatial utilization control policies. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
