Abstract

Career preparation is a crucial process for students as it significantly influences their future paths and overall life satisfaction. However, many students struggle with low self-awareness and uncertainty about their skills, making it difficult to plan their careers effectively. This research aims to design a career preparation application that integrates personality testing to help students better understand their passions, self-competencies, and potential career paths. The application was developed using the Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach, which focuses on involving users throughout the design process to ensure usability and relevance. The design process was carried out in two iterations, allowing for feedback-driven improvements to the prototype. The final prototype was evaluated using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ), and the results showed excellent ratings across all aspects, indicating the application’s effectiveness in delivering a positive user experience and supporting students in preparing for their careers more confidently and clearly. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2026.
