Abstract

Technology adoption is a key element in conserving energy; however, research on its integration has not received sufficient attention. In this study, Researchers examined a diverse array of subjects, covering technological adoption and energy saving. The research extracted data from Scopus, yielding 185 studies relevant to the analysis, and employed Vosviewer and Biblioshiny software to create visualizations of co-authorship networks, keyword co-occurrences, and citation patterns. Network and table analysis tools provide extensive research findings in the domains of energy conservation and technology adoption. A systematic and bibliometric review spanning from 2003 to 2025 was carried out to investigate significant areas and identify research gaps within the literature on technology adoption and energy conservation. This research highlighted the relevance of three bibliometric domains, namely, key publishing countries and relevant keywords, as well as patterns in co-citation networks. The interdisciplinary character of research on technology adoption and energy conservation was highlighted by the journal clustering analysis, which identified eight separate groups with high-impact sources encompassing energy, sustainability, environmental policy, and technology. Bibliometric analysis supports visual representation and research trend evaluation, demonstrating scholarly interest. The study provides valuable insights into technology adoption and energy conservation research by identifying key patterns in active research areas. This study surveys research within the domains of technology adoption and energy conservation. © 2025 The Author(s). Published by Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.
