The Kayutangan Corridor is a center of economic, social, and cultural activities with significant historical value. During the Dutch colonial period, the Kayutangan Corridor served as an economic hub, which is reflected in its colonial-style architecture. Although this corridor holds high historical and cultural significance, changes in the physical environment and land use patterns pose a threat to the area's authentic character. Therefore, this research aims to explore the character of the Kayutangan Corridor based on urban morphology. This study employs a qualitative approach using coding analysis techniques. Data was collected through field observations and interviews with visitors to the Kayutangan Corridor. The findings reveal changes in the street elements, which have lost their historical charm and experienced visual pollution, despite featuring attractive street furniture designs. A new trend, cafe culture, has emerged in the land-use element, and the building element reflects a mix of colonial and modern architecture, where new modern buildings coexist with historic ones, creating a contrasting and interesting contextual architecture. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
