Abstract

This study analyzes a service area for safety tsunami evacuation with considering damages on road networks caused by an earthquake in Pacitan city. The method consists of the assessment of some important risks on evacuation networks as well as the allocation of evacuation shelters based on both spatial and network analysis on GIS. The analysis was conducted on eight possible scenarios with focusing on the connectivity of evacuation passes and the availability of evacuation shelters. It was found that, both the allocation of evacuation shelters and the availability of evacuation passes under the earthquake are very important for the expansion the service area in Pacitan city. © 2010 by The International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).
