Abstract

Damage of pavement structures is very important to note if it is on expansive soil. Pavement damage can create many problems. One of them is traffic accident which can bring human victims. Speed of damage which very quick makes it difficult to detect which can cause fatal problems for vehicle users. This research was conducted with those reasons, by reviewing the interactions that occur when expansive soil expands and the same time the repetitive vehicle load work above the pavement. Damage model was observed. Result of study showed very rapid decrease of strength of the subgrade resulted in damage quickly of the pavement for only little repetitive of vehicle. © 2014 ejge.
