Abstract

This paper studied the operation of Wonorejo Reservoir. The study was conducted at Wonorejo Reservoir, East Java Province Indonesia. Water resources development in Indonesia was targeted to supply water needs, which is the important aspect of water resources developments used for Irrigation. Water use for irrigation has also other advantages such as for hydro electrical power. Water Restriction of surface water resources and high cost hydraulic structures, intensify the need for an optimum capacity and operation for reservoir system. So, it is necessary to allocate the water use as efficient as possible. An optimization analysis software modeling program would give more information for allocating water of each objective function. The Irrigation Allocation Optimization was carried out for a yearly reservoir. Yearly reservoir is a reservoir which could reserve water during rainy season until the end of dry season. For this kind of reservoir, water inflow was not equal with the water outflow. The methodology used in this software program consist an optimization irrigation allocation. The software output could be used as a pattern of the rule curve as the basic of a reservoir operation. The rule curve is considering the irrigation outflow optimization discharge, hydro electrical power head and energy. © Research India Publications.
