This article is aimed to re-actualise the potential of temples located in the Greater Malang as a new sustainable tourist attraction. This paper is a legal research using statute, conceptual, and analytical approaches. The research result reveals that there are 7 aspects that play an important role in re-actualising the potential of temples located in the Greater Malang: managing the regulation systematically, re-vitalising organisations, developing infrastructure; Preservation by means of digital technology; improving marketing and promotion; involving the people living near the area of the temples; and improving the partnership of stakeholders. Thus, regulations are very important in developing tourism temples in Indonesia. © 2018 Editura Universitatii din Oradea. All rights reserved.
