Abstract

The limitation to harvest bee venom involves the bee venom harvesting in Indonesia is not effective due to the common process was done manually and killed the bees in this mechanism. The manual harvesting violates animal welfare principle and can reduce the bee population itself. Therefore, it is necessary to design the bee venom harvesting which automated way using an electric shock system by producing the specific frequency. The system is equipped with solar cell integration inducing it more eco-friendly. The stage of the implementation method is the preparation stage, assembly and measurement process. Expected output is the creation of a device capable of harvesting bee venom on bees without killing bees so as to keep the animal welfare. Benefits of the creation of this tool that can help the government in overcoming the problem of providing biopharmaceutical products from honey bees and also can increase the income of beekeepers in Indonesia. © 2018 IEEE.
