Background: Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) has become a current worldwide and global pandemic among other communicable diseases. Objective: The purpose of this study is to clearly describe the requirements of the public health services in treating HIV/AIDS patients. Method: This study is a qualitative phenomenological study with its subjects being 27 participants suffering from HIV/AIDS. Results: People living with HIV/AIDS stated that they are desperately in need health education, early detection of diseases, HIV/AIDS examinations before marriage, free medication, special health services, and social support for the peer group and their families. Conclusions: Management of HIV/AIDS patients is expected to change, to become a more facilitating and amiable system for patients, centering on the needs of attentive and friendly health practitioners, health insurance for patients, and affordable public health services. © 2018, Indian Journal of Public Health Research and Development.
