Abstract

Usability highlights the three aspects, i.e. effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction with which users achieved specified goals in particular environments. Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) East Java Province published a website for the aim of sharing information and conducting communication with the society, especially with people residing in East Java Province region. At the current time, website-based communication has become an urge for the institutions due to a large number of narcotics misuse in Indonesia. However, there are some complaints that users found difficulties in accessing the information they need through the website. This research conducts usability evaluation of BNN East Java Province website to measure the quality of the user interface according to the three usability aspects. The evaluation result shows 45.71% of the effectiveness is, 46.20% the efficiency, and 40.75% of the user satisfaction. © 2018 IEEE.
