Abstract

This paper presents simple ink viscosity controller system. Mainly, it was made by ink and diluent pumps as actuator, magnetic sensor, and microcontroller which fuzzy logic applied inside. Two magnetic sensors and test cylinder in sample tube provide output voltages which are proportional to magnetic flux. Microcontroller can count and record flow time from upper sensor to lower sensor. The longer recorded flow time, the more viscous the ink. Applying fuzzy logic may determine the viscosity level in to diluent, medium, and viscous. The system can measure and control ink viscosity range between 100 ms and 2949 ms with resolution of 1 ms. Furthermore, the system can be applied for other liquids included in the range. © 2018 IEEE.
