The policy of reservoir release every time period is based on rule curve design. Conflict by inequal reservoir release is inevitable because there is a misconception on designing rule curve about equality. Pandandun (29.690 mem) is the biggest reservoir in Lombok river basin and had the common hydrological issue to fulfilling the demand of reservoir. With lack of annual inflow from the catchment area, Pandandun had to irrigate 8,823 ha of 8 irrigation area and for maintaining the water storage for sustainability. In this case, Pandandun reservoir is the object of study to prove that storage sustainability can be achieved by equalizing (with a precision limit) the end of storage period. The objective of this study is to maximize the release of Pandandun reservoir. By equality concept and linear programming, iterative and recursive optimization of K factor on every time penod is used to be the decision vanable, with utilizing of Ms. Excel - VBA. The input data for simulation i.e., dependable flow (80%, 50%, and 20%) and using actual data for demand). The expected result of this research is maximum release across time penod and also providing optimum storage for next year operations. The result of this study will be compared to the existing rule curve of Pandandun. The conclusion, release on every time penod is maximum and equal. At the end of the year, the model reaches for optimum storage to covering next year operation. © Proceeding of the 21st LAHR-APD Congress 2018. All rights reserved.
