The purpose of this research is to identify the type of waste and to propose improvements for waste minimization on the processing process at the sugarcane industry. This research uses Value Stream Mapping and Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT) method. The results showed that the highest waste in the process production consisted of waiting time and inappropriate processing. Recommendations for improvements that given include reduction of time at several stages of the process, and perform periodic maintenance of the machine. Process Activity Mapping analysis shows reduced lead time from 1212.07 minutes to 1176.23 minutes. © 2019 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
