Electric vehicles (EVs) are replacing conventional vehicles (CVs) in long run because fossil fuel is non-renewable. Electric skateboard as the one of EVs, has low price and relatively small shape, so it can be carried easily. Brushless DC (BLDC) motor is commonly used in electric skateboard. In order to control the speed of the BLDC, Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) with remote controller is required. Holding remote controller while driving electric skateboard may cause high risk of accident. In this paper, the ESC equipped with load cell sensors as input and fuzzy logic is proposed and evaluated. From experimental results, the proposed ESC can achieve the target from a determined set point and produce output suitable with the fuzzy logic control calculation. The proposed ESC can change the speed according to load cell sensors slowly, so that sudden acceleration and braking can be avoided. It needs 22.55 seconds to reach maximum speed and 9.863 seconds to stop the BLDC motor. © 2021 IEEE.
